How to Load Bait Hopper
Correct procedure for filling and operating the dual hopper system on LYX series RC bait boats. Best bait types and loading tips for carp fishing.
Before You Start
- LYX series RC bait boat (any model: 001A / 001B / 001C / 001D)
- Remote controller with batteries installed
- Battery charger (included in package)
- Clean, dry workspace near water
Step-by-Step Instructions
Open the Hopper Lids
Locate the left and right hopper lids on the top deck of your LYX bait boat. Lift both lids to expose the hopper compartments.
Prepare Your Bait
Use dry bait such as corn, pellets, boilies or groundbait. Avoid wet or sticky bait that can clog the release mechanism. For best results, use bait sizes between 2-8mm.
Fill the Left Hopper
Pour bait into the left hopper compartment. Fill to about 80% capacity. Do not overfill as this can jam the release mechanism. Each hopper holds approximately 1KG.
Fill the Right Hopper
Repeat for the right hopper. You can use the same bait type or different bait in each hopper for varied delivery.
Close the Lids Securely
Press both hopper lids down firmly until they click into place. Ensure no bait is trapped in the lid seal. An improperly sealed lid can let water in during operation.
Test the Release
Before placing the boat in water, press the left and right release buttons on the remote to verify both hoppers open and close properly.
Common Mistakes
- Overfilling hoppers beyond 80% capacity, causing jamming
- Using wet or sticky bait that clogs the release mechanism
- Not closing the hopper lids securely, allowing water to enter
- Loading bait that is too large (over 10mm) for the release opening
- Forgetting to test the hopper release mechanism before going on the water
Safety & Maintenance Tips
- Always use dry, free-flowing bait for best results
- Clean hoppers thoroughly after each fishing session to prevent residue buildup
- If a hopper jams, do not force it. Open the lid and clear the obstruction manually
- For carp fishing, mix sizes of pellets and corn for varied bait presentation
- Carry extra bait on shore for reloading during your fishing session
