How to Pair the Remote Control
Step-by-step guide to pair your LYX series remote controller with the RC bait boat. Includes signal troubleshooting and 2.4GHz pairing procedure.
Before You Start
- LYX series RC bait boat (any model: 001A / 001B / 001C / 001D)
- Remote controller with batteries installed
- Battery charger (included in package)
- Clean, dry workspace near water
Step-by-Step Instructions
Power On the Boat
Press and hold the power button on the bait boat for 2 seconds. The indicator light on the boat will start flashing, indicating it is in pairing mode.
Power On the Remote
Turn on the remote controller using the power switch. The LCD screen (on GPS/Sonar models) or indicator light will show that the remote is searching for a signal.
Bind the Signal
Within 10 seconds of powering on both devices, the 2.4GHz signal will automatically bind. The boat's indicator light will change from flashing to steady, and the remote will show signal strength.
Test the Connection
Move the left joystick forward slowly. The boat propellers should start spinning. Move the right joystick to test the steering. If the boat responds, pairing is successful.
Troubleshoot if Needed
If the boat does not respond, turn both devices off. Wait 5 seconds. Power on the boat first, then the remote within 3 seconds. Ensure you are within 10 meters during pairing.
Common Mistakes
- Powering on the remote before the boat (reverse order may cause pairing failure)
- Being too far from the boat during initial pairing (stay within 10 meters)
- Having another 2.4GHz device nearby causing interference
- Not waiting for the indicator light to change from flashing to steady
- Assuming pairing failed without trying the 5-second reset procedure
Safety & Maintenance Tips
- Always pair in an open area away from other 2.4GHz devices
- Keep the boat on dry land during pairing to prevent accidental operation in water
- If the remote shows low battery, charge it before pairing
- Test the connection before placing the boat in water
- Each remote is paired to one boat at a time. Re-pairing is needed if you switch boats
