How to Maintain Bait Boat Battery
Battery storage, charging cycles, winter care and replacement tips for LYX series RC bait boats. Extend battery lifespan with proper maintenance.
Before You Start
- LYX series RC bait boat (any model: 001A / 001B / 001C / 001D)
- Remote controller with batteries installed
- Battery charger (included in package)
- Clean, dry workspace near water
Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow Correct Charging Cycle
Charge the battery fully before first use. After each use, allow the battery to cool for 30 minutes before recharging. Avoid partial charges; charge to 100% each time.
Store at Proper Temperature
Store batteries between 10-25 degrees Celsius. Avoid direct sunlight, hot car interiors, or freezing conditions. Extreme temperatures reduce battery capacity permanently.
Winter Storage
If not using the boat for over 1 month during winter, charge the battery to 50-60% (not full) before storage. Check and recharge every 2 months to prevent deep discharge.
Clean Battery Contacts
After each fishing session, wipe the battery terminals and charging port with a dry cloth. Salt and mineral deposits can cause poor contact and corrosion.
Replace When Needed
If the battery runtime drops below 50% of original (less than 1 hour on a full charge), it is time to replace. Contact us for genuine LYX series replacement batteries.
Use Genuine Parts Only
Always use original or manufacturer-approved replacement batteries. Third-party batteries may have incorrect specifications and can damage your bait boat.
Common Mistakes
- Storing the battery fully discharged (causes permanent capacity loss)
- Leaving the battery on the charger for days after full charge (reduces lifespan)
- Using the boat until the battery completely dies (deep discharge damages lithium cells)
- Charging immediately after use while the battery is still warm
- Mixing old and new batteries or using different capacity batteries together
Safety & Maintenance Tips
- Never puncture, crush or expose the battery to fire
- If the battery casing is swollen or damaged, discontinue use immediately
- Keep batteries away from children and pets
- Do not attempt to open or modify the battery pack
- Dispose of old batteries at designated recycling points, not in household waste
