At 2AM on a syndicate lake, you're not chasing a bait boat by eye. The front LED is visible at 80M in total darkness. More importantly: if signal drops while the boat is at 350M, auto-return triggers immediately — the boat uses its saved launch GPS coordinate and sails back to you. The LYX-001B reaches 500M in open, flat-water conditions. On tree-lined rivers or lakes with high banks, expect 380–420M due to signal reflection. Yes. Front and rear LEDs are visible at approximately 80–100M in complete darkness — sufficient for tracking position on lakes up to 200M wide. For longer night runs, use GPS waypoint mode: set the target coordinate in daylight, then recall it at night. The boat navigates there and back without requiring line-of-sight tracking from your bank position.
The LYX-001B performs reliably in winds up to Beaufort 4 (sustained 5.5–7.9 m/s). At 8KG loaded weight, the hull has enough mass to track through light chop. In Beaufort 5+ (8–10.7 m/s), GPS compensation helps maintain course but the hull takes on spray and motor load increases. Don't operate in sustained wind over 10 m/s — surface safety becomes the priority.
In clear sky conditions (8+ satellites), the LYX-001B delivers to within 3M of the saved waypoint consistently. A 3M radius around a waypoint gives you a 6M diameter delivery zone — enough to cover a standard gravel bar or plateau feature reliably. Under dense tree canopy (4–5 satellites), accuracy drops to 6–8M. Always save waypoints from open sky positions for best results.
