Electronic compass keeps the boat sailing in a straight line in the direction you steer it — you control direction manually. GPS adds autonomous navigation: set a waypoint and the boat sails there without continuous steering. For lakes under 150M, compass is perfectly adequate. For lakes 200M+, GPS becomes significantly more convenient.
500M maximum on open water in clear conditions. For club lakes (typically 80–150M wide), the full range is never needed. Signal range on tree-lined banks reduces to 380–420M due to 2.4GHz signal absorption.
Yes. Auto-return triggers when battery drops below 20% or when signal is lost. The boat sails back to the launch point on compass heading. This is a standard safety feature across all LYX models.
The LYX-001A and 001B share the same hull. GPS module retrofits are not currently available from our factory, but the upgrade path is to the LYX-001B if GPS becomes a priority.
Yes. LED navigation lights are included. Front and rear LEDs are visible at 60–80M in complete darkness. For night runs at greater distances, we recommend the LYX-001B with GPS waypoint mode for autonomous navigation without line-of-sight tracking.
